Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Gardenia needs to use acidic soil, give it 20-28 ℃ growth environment, and control the amount of water, the lower the temperature, the less water. Organic liquid fertilizer is applied once every 10 days during the growth period. Cuttings and striping can be used for reproduction. In addition, common diseases and insect pests should be prevented.

I. Culture environment

1. Soil: gardenia is suitable for growing in acidic soil, because it is very beneficial to its growth.

2. Watering: it is best to wait for the surface of the basin soil to become dry before watering, so as to avoid root rot caused by too much water. It is best to control the amount of water in winter, and the lower the temperature is, the less the water will be; once every 2-3 days in spring and autumn, once in the morning and evening in summer, and once a week in winter.

3. Fertilization: organic fertilizer was applied as base fertilizer during basin change, organic liquid fertilizer was applied once every 10 days during the growth period, and phosphate fertilizer was applied 2-3 times after budding.

4. Temperature: the temperature suitable for its growth is 20-28 ℃. The winter temperature is very low, so it is best to put it in a place with plenty of sunshine and suitable temperature.

II. Methods of reproduction

1. Cuttage propagation: select mature twigs and cut them into 10-15cm length. Cuttings in prepared soil will take root in 1 month and transplant in 2 months or so.

2. Striping propagation: with mature branches of 1-2 years, the length is about 25-30cm, put into the soil about 3 cm, a month will take root.

III. Common diseases and insect pests

1. Spot blight: disease spots will appear in the plants when they come on. After the disease occurs, the diseased leaves should be cleared as soon as possible to prevent the increase of the source of infection. In peacetime, ventilation should be strengthened and the infected plants should be isolated so as not to infect other plants. Bordeaux liquid can be sprayed once a week or so when the disease occurs.

2. Red spider: it will cause the leaves to turn yellow. in order to control the humidity, wash it with water in time after it is found, or spray it with water soaked in cigarette butts.
