Last Updated: 2024/11/05, For breeding plum blossoms, it is necessary to provide loose, fertile and well-drained soil; to ensure that the soil is moist but not stagnant during the growth period; to provide sufficient sunshine; to maintain the temperature at 15 to 20 degrees; and to apply fertilizer during the growth and flowering period. In addition, attention should be paid to pruning to prevent nutrient consumption, and the shape can also be adjusted. The main methods of reproduction are sowing and grafting.

1. Culture environment

(1) soil: it mainly requires loose, fertile and well-drained soil.

(2) watering: it is necessary to keep the soil moist during the growth period. In summer, it can be watered twice a day. About once a day in Spring and Autumn. In winter, the principle of dryness and dryness is followed. No matter what season it is, do not accumulate water.

(3) Light: sufficient sunlight must be provided, otherwise the plant will become thin and blossom less.

(4) temperature: preferably warm, about 15 to 20 degrees. The low temperature will delay its flowering.

(5) fertilization: base fertilizer can be mixed into the soil when planting. Use potassium dihydrogen phosphate before flowering and cake fertilizer for flowers. In the normal growth period, compound fertilizer and organic fertilizer can be used.

2. Pruning

Just after putting on the pot, it needs to be trimmed once. Especially when making bonsai, the foundation must be laid at this time. Usually, the state of the plant can be observed to determine whether it should be pruned or not. Cross, upright, dry, too dense branches should be cut off and lateral branches should be cut short. In this way, it can not only make its shape more beautiful, but also make it luxuriant.

3. Methods of reproduction

(1) sowing and reproduction: after the fruit is ripe in September, pick it, then peel off the skin and wash it. Prepare a suitable substrate and wait until the end of September to sow.

(2) grafting propagation: it is mainly divided into two types: branch marriage and bud marriage. The roots used for grafting can be peach and plum trees, but it is best for plum blossom trees to graft other varieties, so that the success rate of reproduction is high and the growth is good.
