Why is the primrose not blooming?

Last Updated: 2024/11/23, There are several reasons why primrose does not bloom: if it is caused by too much nitrogen fertilizer, it is necessary to apply less nitrogen fertilizer and more phosphate fertilizer. If it is caused by no pruning, it should be well trimmed. If there is not enough light, it is necessary to make up for it. If the fertilizer is insufficient, it should be applied once every half a month.

First, apply phosphate fertilizer

1. Reason: if there is a lot of nitrogen fertilizer and less phosphate fertilizer, the primrose is likely to grow leaves all the time without blooming. Because nitrogen fertilizer is very easy to promote the growth of branches and leaves, and excessive may also cause it to account for. On the other hand, phosphorus plays an important role in the formation of flower buds, and it is easier to promote its flowering.

2. Solution: two months before its flowering time, appropriate amount of phosphate fertilizer should be applied, preferably buried at the edge of the basin, which can prevent fertilizer damage and make it blossom more easily.

Second, supplementary lighting

1. The reason: it is difficult for primroses to blossom indoors, mainly because the light is relatively weak, so it is difficult to produce nutrients, so it will blossom rarely or even not.

2. Solution: at this time, we need to work hard every day and move it outside the house for an hour or two, preferably in the morning and evening sun, which is helpful to its flowering.

3. Pruning in time

1. Reason: a large part of the reason why it does not blossom may be due to lack of pruning. Because if its branches bloom, they will not blossom again. If we do not prune them, the old branches will grow very strongly, and the new branches will not grow very long, so it will be difficult to blossom naturally.

2, the solution: after flowering, it should be trimmed. Cut off the denser, witherer and older branches, and truncate the long branches, which will help it blossom next time.

IV. Replenish water and fertilizer

1. Reason: if there is not enough water and fertilizer, so will the nutrients. If there are no nutrients, it is difficult for the plant to blossom.

2. Solution: when it grows rapidly, fertilizer should be applied to it every 15 days or so. Every time you apply, you need to pay attention to the use of thin fertilizer, not too thick. And it should be noted that organic fertilizer is needed before flowering, so that the seed flowers will be larger and will bloom longer. Of course, it still needs to be watered, but the amount should be controlled and not excessive.
