Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Raise lavender to use well drained sandy soil, watering thoroughly, it is best to choose to water when there is no sun in the morning. It likes plenty of sunlight, preferably all day long. Dilute it with water when fertilizing, so as not to burn the roots because the fertilizer is too thick. Cutting and sowing can be used to propagate, but also to prevent the emergence of red spiders and root rot.

I. Culture environment

1. Soil: lavender likes sandy soil with good drainage, and it is best to choose slightly alkaline or neutral soil.

2. Watering: wait for the soil to become dry before watering. Watering must be thoroughly watered. It is best to choose when there is no sunshine in the morning, otherwise the water splashed on the leaves will rot and breed insect pests.

3, lighting: it likes adequate sunlight, preferably all-day light, if shading measures should be done in summer, properly strengthen ventilation, or spray water around it to reduce the temperature in the air.

4. Fertilization: when applying fertilizer, you should dilute it with water so as not to burn its roots because the fertilizer is too thick. Do not apply too much fertilizer, if it is too much, it will cover its own aroma. Bone meal can be used as base fertilizer.

II. Methods of reproduction

1. Cutting propagation: select strong and pest-free branches for cutting, remove the leaves at the bottom of the branches, soak them with rooting agents, and take root in the prepared soil for about half a month.

2. Sowing and propagation: select uniform and full seeds, soak them in warm water for about a day, soak them in concentrated sulfuric acid for about 5 minutes, then wash them with water and dry them for sowing. The suitable temperature for seed germination is 20-25 ℃.

III. Common diseases and insect pests

1. Red spiders: the appearance of red paper will make the leaves dry and yellow and wilt. In order to strengthen the management of water and fertilizer after discovery, it can be sprayed with 0.26% matrine 1000 times in the initial stage, and in severe cases, it can be sprayed with 20% diclofenac EC 1000 times.

2. Root rot: if you want to prevent it, you should choose soil with good drainage, pay attention to the pruning of diseased branches and old branches, and spray leaves with 400 times of 70% methyl thiophanate wettable powder or 500 times of 50% carbendazim wettable powder.
