Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Raise the cactus with acidic or weakly acidic soil to ensure that the soil is moist and give it sufficient light except in summer. Fertilization is generally based on phosphate fertilizer, the amount of fertilizer should not be too much. Propagation can be cutting or sowing methods, in addition to strengthen ventilation, control moisture, prevent the occurrence of diseases and insect pests.

I. Culture environment

1. Soil: cactus belongs to desert plant, which is suitable for acidic or weakly acidic soil. It can be mixed with rotten leaf soil, garden soil, coarse sand and rotten bone powder.

2. Watering: the cactus likes the humid environment, and the spring, summer and autumn season is the peak growth period. at this time, it is necessary to increase the amount of water to ensure that the soil is moist. If you cultivate indoors, you will often spray water around to enhance the air humidity. If the soil is dry in winter, the classroom should be watered. If the indoor temperature is low in winter, the soil should be kept slightly dry.

3. Lighting: shading measures should be taken when the strong light is shining in summer. in other seasons, it can be placed in a place with sufficient light, and do not put it in a cool indoor place for a long time, otherwise the color will turn black. About 2-3 days a month to stay outside to receive light.

4, fertilization: generally give priority to phosphate fertilizer, the amount of fertilizer should not be too much, otherwise the soil concentration will be greater than the root concentration, and the cactus will be dehydrated.

II. Methods of reproduction

1. Cuttage propagation: use a knife to divide the bulb, if the wound is too big to dry, put it on the sand, do not insert it into the sand; sand noodles should be less water, after planting in the indoor culture of more than 20 ℃, can be born after a month.

2. Sowing and propagation: soak the seeds in warm water for 3 days, then sow the seeds, then supply water, keep the temperature at about 25 ℃, cover it with white paper and glass, and emerge after a month. After emergence, the white paper and glass are opened, and there is no need to topdressing. After growing for a year, the seedlings are divided into pots.

III. Common diseases and insect pests

The common diseases and insect pests of cactus are anthrax, shell insects and whitefly, etc., generally to strengthen ventilation, but also to control moisture, in the discovery of diseases and insect pests should be sprayed in time.
