Last Updated: 2024/11/08, For breeding Cymbidium, it is necessary to provide loose and fertile acid soil, with a temperature of 10 to 25 degrees Celsius, watering according to the state of the soil during the growing period, watering every five to seven days when dormant, and applying thin organic fertilizer. In addition, when it blossoms, we should pay attention to thinning buds. In case of anthrax, scale insects and other diseases and insect pests, timely measures should be taken.

1. Culture environment

(1) soil: loose, nutritious and acidic soil is needed. For example, mix rotten leaf soil and sandy loam evenly, half and half.

(2) temperature: the most suitable temperature is 10 to 25 degrees, but it varies from time to time. It is preferably eighteen to twenty-five degrees from March to October and ten to eighteen degrees from October to March. Pay attention to heat preservation in winter, need to be in 3 to 8 degrees.

(3) watering: dormant in winter, do not need much water, but every five to seven days. The growing season needs to observe the state of the soil and water it as soon as it dries. But avoid flooding, and the temperature of the water should not be too low.

(4) fertilization: thin organic fertilizer can be used, or fertilizer specifically for orchids can be used. The growing season needs more, but the quantity can be a little more; winter is dormant, but not imposed. Avoid high concentration fertilizer and raw fertilizer.

2. Thinning buds at flowering stage

In the flowering stage of the plant, it is necessary to choose those full, healthy buds and remove the others to avoid wasting nutrients. In addition, when some flowers are about to wither, they should be cut off in time. This not only helps to reduce nutrition consumption, but also helps to bloom in the coming year.

3. Pest control

Cymbidium is easily affected by some diseases and insect pests, such as anthrax, scale insects and so on. Once found, the affected parts should be cut off in time and sprayed with corresponding agents. At the same time, attention should be paid to ventilation, light transmission and other problems.
