Last Updated: 2024/11/08, In order to cultivate Cymbidium, it is necessary to use acid soil with non-sticky weight and good permeability, give it proper sunlight, take good shading measures in summer, apply dilute liquid fertilizer in spring and autumn every year, and then control the temperature at 20-28 ℃, and pay attention to the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests. Propagation can be done by means of plant division and tissue culture.

I. Culture environment

1. Soil: Mulan likes moist soil environment, so it is best to choose acid soil with non-sticky weight and good air permeability, which can make its roots grow better.

2. Light: accept sunlight properly, but take good shading measures in summer, otherwise the leaves will turn yellow and even stop growing. It is best to let it accept astigmatism, the sun is not too strong, in winter to increase the sun exposure, but to pay attention to the temperature, so as not to be frostbitten.

3. Fertilization: it does not have strict requirements for fertilizer, and it can grow normally even without fertilization. You can choose to apply dilute liquid fertilizer to it in the spring and autumn season every year, and when it enters the dormant period, it will not have to continue to apply fertilizer.

4. Temperature: under normal circumstances, the temperature should be controlled at 20-28 ℃. If the temperature is lower than 20 ℃, the growth will become slow, and if it is higher than 30 ℃, it will dormancy. In winter, the temperature should be controlled at 10-16 ℃ during the day and 5-10 ℃ at night.

II. Methods of reproduction

1. Ramet propagation: prepare flowerpots, choose loose and fertile sandy soil, water a small amount before ramet, choose a stronger stem, you can use 5 connected pseudobulbs, cut them off and plant them into new soil. In order to ensure the wettability of the soil, water will be watered after ramet, and it will survive half a month later.

2. Tissue culture propagation: insert the new buds of Cymbidium into a container containing nutrient solution, then fix it, the root system will grow in a week or so, and then it can be moved to water for culture.

III. Common diseases and insect pests

1. White silk disease: generally, it is more likely to occur in a more humid environment. Clean up the soil with bacteria in time, remove the basin and check the decay in time, cut off the rotten part and disinfect it.

2. Black spot disease: it often occurs in high temperature and rainy season. It is found that there are dark brown spots on the leaves, which should be removed in time and ventilation should be strengthened.
