Poinsettia breeding methods and precautions

1. Soil

Poinsettia culture should choose loose and well-drained soil, the matrix can use perlite, peat, vermiculite and river sand, no pests, germs and so on, can be properly disinfected.

Second, watering

Watering poinsettia should be controlled. Large or small amounts of water will cause discomfort. When the temperature is high, it grows fast, so it needs a lot of water, which can be irrigated 1-2 times a day, or it can be sprayed around properly to increase the humidity of the air. In other periods, water can be watered once a day or two. If the amount of water is large, it will cause the leaves to fall off or rot the roots; if the amount of water is small, the leaves will wither due to lack of water.

Third, lighting

It is a short-day plant, to control the sunshine within 12 hours, only by receiving the right amount of sunlight can it grow rapidly and the flower buds will differentiate. During the development of flower buds, the involucral bracts should reduce sunshine before they mature, otherwise they will stop developing.

4. Temperature

The suitable temperature for its growth is 18-25 ℃, and the lowest temperature should not be lower than 16 ℃, otherwise its growth will become slower, and if it is lower than 13 ℃, it will stop growing. The highest temperature can not be higher than 29 ℃, and the high temperature is also very disadvantageous to its growth.

V. matters needing attention

1, disease: it will appear leaf spot disease, to properly spray chemicals, but also to strengthen indoor ventilation, pruning tools should also be disinfected at all times, so as not to increase the source of infection.

2. Insect pests: it will appear whitefly, which can be eliminated with medicament. it is best to put a yellow armyworm board with engine oil indoors, and then lure it out and deal with it.
