Whenever the word "Yang Rumen" is mentioned, the first impression surfaced is the "white rice bomber" who caused a sensation in 2003. When Taiwan joined the WTO in 2002, domestic agriculture was greatly affected. Yang Rumen, a rural boy, planted bombs all over Taipei, shouting "opposing the import of rice" and "the government should take care of the people." some people praised him as a hero in the countryside, while others criticized him as a terrorist in society.

On February 17, 2006, Yang Rumen was jailed; on June 21, 2007, former President Chen Shui-bian issued an amnesty and Yang Rumen was released. Instead of seeing each other again, the white rice bombers crouched on the land to help farmers in more practical ways, including the establishment of the "248 Agronomy Market" and "Colored Field Friendship works" combined with the power of farmers and consumers to take action to protect Taiwan's farmland.

Note 1: in 1950, Chen Mingzhong was arrested and sentenced to 10 years in prison during the period of white terror in Taiwan; in 1976, he was arrested for paying for the leftist magazine Xia Chao, and the sentence was changed from death penalty to 15 years' imprisonment.
