In order to make the black pine needles neat and beautiful and make the bonsai more ornamental, it is usually necessary to cut it properly. Before cutting buds, we need to classify buds according to strong, medium and weak growth states and weak states, and then keep them consistent with cut buds.

1. Strong buds: there are usually 4 layers of pine needles around the branches, and each layer usually has 4-6 pine needles.

2. Weak buds: there is usually only one layer of pine needle buds, usually 4-5 pine needles, and those showing bud dysplasia are often the most disadvantageous buds.

3. Intermediate buds: intermediate buds, of course, between strong buds and weak buds.

It should be noted, however, that if multiple buds sprout from one location, buds such as axillary buds are usually classified as strong buds. Therefore, we need timely bud treatment, but for unfavorable buds born in a year, the buds are usually not cut in a year, but we need to wait for the next year to cut buds.

We first deal with the middle bud, that is, cut off the root of the new bud with sharp scissors, and pay attention to keeping the incision as much as possible. It's the state after cutting the bud.
