I found a feature that many famous bonsai masters in Europe and America have the habit of digging piles in the mountains. Later, I read their blog and analyzed it. There may be the following reasons:

1. Locally, we don't want China, and there is an army of pile diggers. As long as there are trees in the area, someone will dig piles and sell them in places such as Tieba and moments, but few of them do this work, so they can only do it themselves.

2. They go up the mountain to dig piles not only for a purpose, but also for hiking and fitness.

3. Going up the mountain to find stakes can help them understand the original environment of tree species and the changes of the four seasons, so as to better understand the habits of these tree species.

4. Many interesting photos can be taken on the mountain, which will help them find inspiration.

5. Only those who can see it. If you find someone else to dig the pile and the pile shape is not good, will you accept it or not?

For these reasons, from the collection of downhill piles made by several famous artists before, it is true that the quality of their downhill piles is very high. Because they would rather go home empty-handed than reluctantly poach a tree. This set of pictures is a collection of stumps collected by an Italian bonsai expert. They are all pine trees. The first few trees may be red pines, and the last one is larch. They call this kind of stump yamadori, and so far I haven't thought of a suitable Chinese to match it.
