All kinds of pine trees are similar. In the picture, take red pine as an example to talk about how to prune the new buds of pine trees.

Our pruning rule is that no matter how many new buds there are, only two are left. In this way, one becomes two, two becomes four, and the branches become thicker and thicker, and you can get very beautiful antler branches after a few pruning times. The second rule is to get rid of the strongest and the weakest, so that the two new buds left behind are strong and weak.

There are usually the following situations for new buds.

1. Strong in the middle and weak on both sides

Needless to say, just cut off the strongest in the middle.

2. Two upward ones are stronger and one downward ones are weaker.

Naturally, the weaker ones are removed.

3. one is balanced up and down, and the other is weaker or stronger.

Keep it for a while. As for the growth direction, it can be adjusted by winding aluminum wire when it grows out.

4. One left and one right is more balanced, and one downward is stronger.

Get rid of the downward strong.

Three are about the same, but not one compact

The one that is removed should leave the most space.

6. Multiple buds, strong or weak

Sub-region, in the medium area, in the middle of the crown, remove the strongest and weakest, leaving two medium buds

Leave two weak buds at the top of the crown

Leave two strong buds at the bottom of the crown

7. Many buds

It's about the same as case 6.
