Poul Holm, chairman of the World Humanities Union and professor of environmental history at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, was invited to Taiwan to participate in the "International Symposium on Agricultural Food and Food Ethics in the Asia-Pacific region" (APSafe) to explore the possibility of sustainable development of marine food. Poul Holm focuses on fisheries history, marine environmental history, coastal communities and culture and other academic areas, and in 2017 convened the "European College Policy Science advice Group (SAPEA)" experts to complete the "Food from the Oceans" research report as a reference for European marine policy.

Poul Holm said that as a part of the food chain, in addition to the efforts of the production side, consumers also have to learn to "make smart choices." from the choice of eating fish species to taking the initiative to care about the transparency of fish footprints, "consumer awareness" is an indispensable key. From the perspective of "food ethics", Holm believes that everything is a return to personal choice. "it depends on whether it is the 'master of nature' or'a member of nature'as the starting point." He stressed that there is no right or wrong in the final decision, but "Ocean literacy in your heart will help you make smart choices."
