Pueraria lobata, scientific name green jade vine, is a perennial evergreen vine of Leguminosae (butterfly flower family). The stem is woody, up to 20 meters long. Palmately compound, often 3-foliolate, leaflets long elliptic, apex acuminate, base cuneate, veins obvious, leaves entire, lower leaflets asymmetric. The raceme is made up of several florets. The green jade vine is not resistant to frost and the winter temperature should be kept above 15.6oC. Should be planted in neutral to acidic soil, like full light. Semi-mature stem cuttings can take root in a heated sand bed at the bottom. The seed setting rate is low and is pollinated by bats in tropical forests. the fruits, such as cyan mangoes, mature brown, with 6 to 10 brown seeds shaped like cashews. It is best to sow seeds as early as possible after maturity, but the sowing temperature should be maintained above 26.7oC.
