Guanyinlian, belonging to crassulaceae, evergreen grass. Because of its dignified shape like green lotus and its characteristics of easy survival and reproduction, it is favored by many flower lovers. The plant type is large and open outward, slightly flattened, usually 5 Mel 7 cm in diameter (the smaller plant is about 3 cm in diameter, and the older plant can reach 20 cm in diameter). Stolons short and strong, up to 4 cm. The young plants have fewer leaves.

Morphological features:

Leaf blade, glabrous, smooth or finely hairy, usually green or slightly bluish gray, sometimes dark red to purplish red. The leaves are lanceolate to Obovate, about 20m ~ 60cm long and 10m ~ 15cm wide, with sharp tips at the top, slightly convex surfaces on both sides (relatively flat on the upward side), and white cilia.

Inflorescences, stems stout, 20 mi 50 cm long, surface densely scabrous white hairs, growing from growing point. The leaflets on the flower stem are lanceolate and the apex is sharp. Thyrse, large and densely flowered, with a capacity of 40 Mel and 100 flowers at a time. Bracts arranged linearly, apex sharp, surface hairy. The bud is oval and has a distinct tip.

Flowers, 12-merous, about 2.5 cm in diam., sepals about 0.8 cm, surface with sharp cilia (ca. 4 mm). The petals are about 0.9pi 1.2 cm long and 0.2 cm wide, white or purple, with red lines, generally purple, neatly lanceolate, with a pointed apex and ciliated and soft hairs on the back. The filaments are bright fuchsia. Stamens are orange-red.

Note: it is normal for Guanyinlian to die after flowering. After death, flowering plants can be propagated by cutting with their lateral buds, or pollinated at flowering stage in order to sow and reproduce.

The reproduction of Guanyinlian is very convenient, and cuttings are usually used. Cut off the robust lateral buds, wait for the incision to dry, insert a loose slightly wet sand table (or vermiculite), place it in a cool place away from light, and root in a few days to a week. It can also be reproduced by sowing.
