Last Updated: 2024/09/21, If you want to sow jade dew, you must first obtain its seeds by artificial pollination, and then choose a smaller container to sow directly. The soil can be mixed with rotten leaf soil, peat soil and vermiculite and prepared according to the ratio of 2: 2: 3. To sow, just sow the seeds of jade dew on the substrate, then cover with a piece of glass and keep it ventilated.

1. Obtaining seeds

For Yulu, artificial pollination is necessary if it wants to set seeds. Under normal circumstances, we will choose to flower in the peak period, and the weather is clear when. This is done by selecting two plants that bloom at the same time and removing pollen from one plant and applying it to the stigma of the other. When they mature, they can collect seeds.

2. Sowing time

The seeds of this plant can be collected and sown at any time without special treatment. Therefore, the time of sowing can be adjusted according to the time of seed collection.

3. Select container

Its plant type is relatively small, so if the container is too large, it will not look good, so we can try to choose a smaller container when we choose.

4. Select substrate

In order to improve the survival rate better, we must consider whether its drainage is good or not, whether nutrients are rich and sufficient, and so on. To sum up the above requirements, we can choose to mix rotting soil, peat soil and vermiculite in a ratio of two to two to three. In addition, it is also important to note that it is best to disinfect the substrate before sowing, such as high temperature treatment, to kill many toxic bacteria and other harmful substances.

5. Sowing and post-treatment

Sow the previously collected seeds into a sterile substrate and cover with a glass slide. Pay attention to temperature maintenance and proper ventilation. After about 20 days, we can observe it germinate. At this point, we can remove the glass. After removal, attention should also be paid to continuing ventilation and maintaining a suitable degree of soil wetting.
