Last Updated: 2024/11/05, A very obvious difference between snapdragon and violet is that violet is covered with dense, soft, short gray hairs throughout the plant, while snapdragon is not. Snapdragon blooms a month earlier than violets.

1. Flower difference

Goldfish grass: under normal circumstances, its florescence is from March to June, the length of petals is about 3 cm to 15 cm, and the length of pedicel is about 5 mm to 7 mm.

Violet: its florescence is from April to May, which blossoms a month later than the goldfish grass. The length of the petals is about 12 mm and the pedicel length is about 1.5 mm. This is very different from the flowers of the goldfish grass, which is much smaller than the flowers of the goldfish grass. Therefore, if both are in the flowering period, it is easy to distinguish between the two plants.

2. Difference between branches and stems

Goldfish grass: its branches are usually at the junction of the stem and root, and the base of the stem sometimes shows Lignification.

Violet: its branches are spread all over the plant, unlike the goldfish grass, and all branches are Lignified at the base.

3. Height difference

Goldfish grass can grow up to 80 centimeters tall, while violets can only grow 60 centimeters high.

4. Leaf difference

Goldfish grass: its leaves are between 2 cm and 6 cm in length, with flat edges, and most of them are lanceolate or rectangular lanceolate.

Violet: the total length of its leaf with petiole is about 6 cm to 14 cm, and its leaf width is between 1.2 cm and 2.5 cm, which is much larger than that of goldfish grass, and its leaves are spatulate or oblong to oblanceolate, which is very different from goldfish grass. Its edges are both flat and microwave, unlike those of goldfish grass.
