Last Updated: 2024/11/23, There are many reasons for yellowing epiphyllum leaves: if it is caused by too little watering, increase the frequency of watering, and if the temperature is too low to freeze it, put it in a warm environment and cut off the frozen leaves. If it is caused by diseases and insect pests, spray it. If you are sunburned by bright light, put it where the sun cannot shine directly and remove the yellow leaves.

1. Increase watering

Reason: epiphyllum is a kind of flower that prefers humid environment. If it is not watered for a long time or too little water is given to it, the plant may be short of water, which will make the leaves yellow.

Solution: increase the frequency of watering. But be careful not to irrigate too much water each time, so as not to cause stagnant water in the soil to harm its roots.

2. Raise the temperature

Reason: epiphyllum is very afraid of freezing. Once frozen in winter, the whole plant will begin to wilt and soften, and the leaves will show signs of yellowing and drying up.

Solution: put epiphyllum in a warm environment, then find its frostbitten stems and leaves, and cut them all. Don't be distressed when cutting, because leaving these branches and leaves on the plant will not only have no effect, but will consume a lot of nutrients.

3. Eliminate diseases and insect pests

Reason: after being infected by some diseases and insect pests, the leaves of epiphyllum may also turn yellow.

Solution: after the discovery of diseases and insect pests, we should first determine the types of disease, and then take the corresponding anti-insect spraying methods for treatment.

4. Timely shading

Reason: when the sun is too strong, epiphyllum can not be directly exposed to the sun, otherwise its leaves will be sunburned, making it yellow.

Solution: shade when the sun is too strong. If you have been sunburned, remove the yellowed leaves and move them indoors where you can't be exposed to the sun.
