What if the Milan leaves turn yellow?

Last Updated: 2024/11/05, There are many reasons for the yellowing of Milan leaves: if it is caused by a lack of light for a long time, put it indoors where there is plenty of light. If watering is caused too frequently, stop watering, move it to a better ventilated place, and wait for the soil to dry before watering. If the soil is alkaline, water containing vinegar should be used to water it instead.

1. Increase the light

Reason: lack of light for a long time may prevent Milan from producing synthetic chlorophyll, and without chlorophyll, its leaves will turn yellow.

Solution: put Milan in a place with plenty of light for maintenance. During this period, it is best to turn the flowerpot regularly to change the light direction of the plant so that it receives light evenly. This makes it grow more evenly and is less likely to produce yellow leaves.

2. Suspend watering

Reason: watering Milan too much or too often will lead to stagnant water in the soil, if it can not be discharged in time, it will affect the root absorption of oxygen in the soil, thus changing to the breathing pattern of anaerobic respiration, resulting in alcohol causing rotting roots. Once the root is rotten, it cannot normally absorb nutrients from the soil, and the leaves will turn yellow as a result.

Solution: first pause the watering, then move it to a well-ventilated place, and loosen the soil or replace it with a new basin without water. Then wait for the soil to dry before watering.

3. Pour it with acid water

Reason: Milan is a flower that likes acidic soil, and if it is often watered with alkaline water, it will also have yellow leaves.

Solution: use alum fertilizer to water 3-5 times a year, or add one or two drops of salt-free vinegar to the water before watering. Then replace it with acidic soil when you change it.
