Triangulated plums were raised in May last year. At the beginning of watering is to refer to the experience of other flowers, see the surface of the basin soil is dry, hard to water thoroughly. But from May to September, these triangular plums did not bloom a single flower, but continue to grow, but also appeared a lot of problems, such as rotten leaves, rigid seedlings. In September, a lot of flowers were produced with controlled light, but the problem followed. As soon as the bud appeared, it kept black buds and buds falling, and finally began to fall flowers again, and the flowering period was over in a few days.

While controlling the light, we also controlled the water of several pots of flowers. by controlling the water, it was found that the triangular plum was quite resistant to drought. After drying on the surface of the potted soil, even if the sun was in the sun, the plum could resist wilting for at least 2-3 days. As a result, it is realized that, in fact, triangular plum does not need to be watered too much. In the past, there were problems in watering, watering too often, and all the problems in triangular plum, such as failure to blossom, rotten leaves, rotten roots, stiff seedlings, black buds, falling flowers, and so on, are caused by too much water.

So starting from this year, the number of watering of triangular plum has been greatly reduced. Even if the surface of the basin soil is dry, it will not be watered until the inside is dry. The effect of reducing watering is remarkable. The first thing is to save water. The amount of water now is even less than 1/3 before. Then a lot of problems disappeared, such as only growing but not blooming, rotten leaves, rotten roots, stiff seedlings, black buds, falling flowers and so on never appeared again. And the biggest advantage is that triangular plum has become a flowering machine, just blooming before and after the Spring Festival this year, pruning after blooming, as soon as it sprouts, it is all a bud. Moreover, the flowering period has become longer this time, and in the end, it is only when the flowers are dry that they are trimmed and removed. Due to the long flowering period, from New Year's Day to the present, the triangular plum on the balcony has not broken flowers, always keeping about 10 pots in bloom.

If you have to wait until the soil of the triangular plum basin is dry, it will be easy to do with less flowers, but it will be difficult to grasp if you have more. Later, I came up with a way to insert an ice cream stick on the edge of each basin and take it out when watering it. I saw that the soil below was dry and then watered. As long as the soil above the ice cream bar was wet, even if the surface basin soil turned white, it was determined not to water it. There are plenty of ice cream bars in all sizes, very cheap, a few cents each.
