Crab claw orchid is an epiphytic shrub. Leafy stems flattened and jointed, fleshy, ovoid, bright green, apex truncate, margin coarsely serrate. The flower is born at the top of the stem, the perianth opens and rolls upside down, and the colors are lilac, yellow, red, pure white, pink, orange and two colors. Crab claw orchid is easy to drop flowers and buds mainly for the following reasons:

1. Fail to guard against cold in time. When the rootstock stops growing in winter in the northern region, most of the buds of the full plant will fall off, and the bud drop of the crab claw orchid which uses the trigonous arrow as the rootstock is more serious. The three-rowed arrow grows slowly when the temperature is about 20 degrees, and stops growing at about 15 degrees. Once the rootstock stops growing, its nutrients and water will be limited, thus causing buds to fall. Because the cactus is more hardy than the three-angled arrow, the crab claw orchid which uses the cactus as the rootstock has slightly less buds. Crab claw orchids with trigonous arrows as rootstocks must pay attention to cold protection after the end of autumn, and it is best to move indoors in advance and put them in a sunny place to cultivate.

2. Sudden cooling or too big temperature difference between day and night. Crab claw orchid likes to be warm, if the temperature suddenly drops below 10 degrees, buds will fall. When the temperature suddenly drops, it is necessary to do a good job of indoor warmth in time.

3. Improper watering. Crab claw orchid bud after watering must wait for the basin soil to see dry before watering, do not continuously pour water, otherwise it is easy to cause bud drop. But watering can not be too little, basin soil is too dry also easy to cause bud drop.

4. Insufficient fertilization. The crab claw orchid failed to apply fertilizer in time before and after budding, and the nutrition was insufficient, and it was easy to cause bud drop.

5. carry flowerpots at will during flowering, resulting in broken stems and easy to fall flowers and buds.

6. under the condition of suitable temperature and nutrients, light is the decisive factor to determine the formation and development of flower buds. The early stage of bud formation and development requires a dark environment for 12-14 hours a day. If there is light at night, it will cause the flower buds to stop developing and falling.
