How to maintain and manage the tree and stone bonsai?

The tree and stone bonsai has beautiful scenery, fresh style, implicit and meaningful, wide application theme and great market prospect. If you want it to enter thousands of households, its maintenance and management simplification is an important link. The following is the maintenance method of tree and stone bonsai.

1. Watering and fertilization

Tree and stone bonsai due to the use of the basin is very shallow, not much soil, so usually the basin soil is easier to dry, especially in the hot summer season, so we should pay special attention to timely replenishment of water. Generally, it can be determined according to the weather conditions, such as watering once in the morning and evening when the sun is shining in spring; in addition to watering in the morning and evening at high temperature in summer, you can also spray water at noon; when the wind is crisp in autumn, you should also water twice a day.

In order to avoid the basin soil being washed away by water, it is appropriate to use a thin-eye spray pot when watering, wait for the water to seep into the soil after spraying, and then spray it again, so that the basin soil can be thoroughly watered several times.

Usually, in addition to normal watering, but also use sprayers to spray the trees, rocks and moss in the basin, so as to make the trees and moss grow well.

In order to make the plants in the basin grow and flourish, it is necessary to supplement nutrients. If there is not enough nutrient supplement, the plant will not grow well.

The fertilization of tree and stone bonsai should be thin and diligent. Most of the fertilizer and water used are diluted organic fertilizer and water, and inorganic fertilizer should be used as little as possible. Fertilizer and water can be sprinkled carefully, be careful not to pollute the leaves of the trees. Some granular organic compound fertilizers can also be buried in the soil to allow plants to absorb them naturally and slowly.

The timing of fertilization is appropriate in spring and autumn, but not in summer, usually once a week. Fertilization in autumn is very important, and it can be applied until the Beginning of Winter and Lesser Snow. Since autumn is a period of nutrient accumulation for trees, only by applying enough fertilizer in this season and allowing plants to absorb sufficient nutrients can we lay the foundation for the growth of trees at the beginning of spring next year, and trees will grow vigorously in the next year. Trees will also enhance their ability to resist freezing and pest resistance in winter.

two. Pruning and changing soil

The trees in the basin must be pruned after growing for a period of time. But at this time, we only need to focus on the maintenance of the tree posture, that is, to cut short the branches of Nagano and cut off some cross branches, whorled branches, overgrown branches, overlapping branches and diseased branches in time. In addition, it is generally not necessary to cut too much.

It should be trimmed before and after Grain in Beard's solar terms in June and after the Winter Solstice in December, twice a year. Usually pay attention to cut off the long branches. If a work is to be exhibited, it must be trimmed 15 days before the exhibition and all the leaves must be removed so that the new leaves sprout at the time of the exhibition to achieve the best viewing effect. However, before picking leaves and pruning, fertilizer must be applied early to promote the normal germination of new leaves.

After the trees in the basin have grown for many years, the whisker roots will be densely spread in the basin, and the soil will gradually solidify. If the soil exchange operation is not carried out at this time, the growth of the plants in the basin will be affected.

Soil change is usually carried out once in 2-3 years, mostly in spring and autumn. When changing the soil, first remove the accessories and spot stones, and remember their location. When the basin soil is a little longer, take out the trees from the basin, remove about half of the old soil with bamboo sticks, cut off some of the overgrown and dense roots and replace them with loose and fertile soil, then plant the trees in the pot according to the original position, put the spot stones in the original position, fix them, put accessories, cover with moss, and then spray water to make the basin soil drenched.

3. Control of diseases and insect pests

In order to make the trees grow healthily and exuberantly in the bonsai, it is advisable to always observe whether there are any diseases and insect pests in order to prevent them first. Because the growth environment of trees in stone bonsai is affected by the lack of shallow soil, the ability to resist diseases and insect pests is relatively poor, so special attention should be paid to it. Insecticidal and disease control potions are usually sprayed every two months to ensure that trees are protected from diseases and insect pests and make them grow strong.
