Azaleas, May is the blooming season, blooming in clusters, very spectacular. However, if you want to raise the cuckoo well, you should not only learn to use a ladle of water, but also use a spoonful of fertilizer, so that it can blossom in May.

1. How to make good use of a spoonful of fertilizer?

Cuckoo maintenance, change the basin and change the soil every two years, the amount of fertilizer should not be too frequent, especially avoid dung, the concentration should not be too high. Fertilization should be paid attention to: after leaving the room to the bud formation stage, from March to the first ten days of April, in order to promote the old leaves to turn green, the bud is bright, you can apply general-purpose flower nutrient solution 1-2 times, diluted 500 times each time, and directly irrigate the root.

Fallen flower fertilizer should be applied once from May to July after flowering, and a layer of horse dung should be applied to cover the basin in the first and middle September before entering the house in autumn to protect the root system from overwintering. Before leaving the house in early spring, you should apply an additional green fertilizer and irrigate it 500 times with organic nutrient solution and water.

2. How to use a ladle of water well?

Rhododendron root system is slender, too dry and too wet are not conducive to growth. If there is a lack of water during flowering, the petals are soft and drooping, and the florescence is shortened and the color is not bright. When there is a lack of water in the leaf expansion period, the leaf color turns yellow, the heart leaf curls and the growth is poor. If it is too wet, the hairy root will be damaged to cause decay, so it must be combined with each stage of development to water it timely and in the right amount.

The main results are as follows: (1) from November of that year to March-April of the next year, the cuckoo overwintered indoors, which was in the dormant stage and did not require much water, so it could be kept dry. It is usually watered every 3-5 days, and the best time is at noon. When the temperature is too high, it can be combined with ventilation to cool down.

(2) at the end of March, the cuckoo had already sprouted its roots, and the water demand increased accordingly, so watering should be treated separately, generally every 1-2 days, at noon.

(3) from the end of April to the beginning of May, it is the stage of flower bud differentiation of rhododendron, and the branches and leaves also begin to sprout, which requires a lot of water. Generally, they should be watered once in the morning or evening, and the amount of water should be sufficient. At the same time, attention should be paid to ventilation and spraying more water on the leaves to increase indoor humidity.

(4) exercise gradually before leaving the greenhouse in the middle of May, which is suitable for outdoor climate. First open the greenhouse skylights, door curtains, after 7-10 days, move out of the outdoor shady place for training, when the dry wind is the most in spring, spray water 4 times a day, and should set up wind barrier protection.

(5) from June to July, high temperature and dry, it is necessary to set up double shade sheds to increase ground water spraying and foliar water spraying, 2-3 times a day.

(6) from August to September, the watering times should be reduced by 1-2 times, and combined with watering, a diluted organic nutrient solution of 800 times should be applied to facilitate the absorption of rhododendron and survive the winter safely.

In addition, in order to promote the size of azaleas and prolong their flowering period, they can be thinned once a year in mid-December and truncate the branches appropriately; if they are not watered during the flowering period, and the pedicels are removed in time after flowering, the flowering period can be prolonged and the flowers are big and bright.
