Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Strawberry plants are relatively low-growing, vulnerable to microorganisms, diseases and insect pests, and more drugs are used in the planting process, so in order to avoid pesticide residues, it is recommended to use running water when cleaning and soak in light salt water for five minutes after cleaning. Do not remove the stalks of strawberries before cleaning to prevent pesticide residues from entering the pulp.

1. Flowing water cleaning

Strawberries are easily infected with microbial diseases due to the conditions in the breeding process, especially the bought strawberries, which often use pesticides, but their skin is fragile and the pulp is sweet and juicy, so it is not suitable for hand scrub. It is recommended to use running water for longer cleaning time to avoid pesticide penetration caused by soaking in water containing pesticides.

2. Soak in light brine

Strawberries washed with running water can not be eaten immediately, thinking that the surface of strawberries is rough and harmful substances may remain at every point. It is recommended to use light salt water or Amoy rice to soak.

Take a clean container, put the strawberries into the rice water / salt water, and choose the salt water because it has bactericidal effect and kill harmful microorganisms; the rice water is used because the rice water is alkaline, and pesticides are generally acidic, promoting its decomposition to a certain extent. It won't take too long, about five minutes.

3. Points for attention

(1) in order to be clean, many people like to use detergent or detergent to wash fruit, in fact, this is wrong, a large number of chemicals and harmful substances will remain on the fruit, should be avoided when washing strawberries.

(2) for the convenience of eating, many people like to take off the stalks of strawberries, so it is easy to make pesticide residues seep into the pulp, so it is recommended to pick them when eating.
