In the cultivation and management of pepper, many growers have wrong ideas and practices when applying fertilizer, which not only leads to a waste of cost, but also seriously affects the quality of pepper. Therefore, if you want high yield and high quality of pepper, you must avoid the following three misunderstandings!

Myth 1: the more fertilizer, the faster the better.

The soil total salt concentration needed for the normal growth of pepper is 2000-3000 mg / kg. More than 6500 mg / kg root system will be dried up by reverse osmosis, and the yield will decrease.

In addition, too much fertilization led to the early growth of pepper, consumption of a lot of nutrients led to premature senescence in the later stage, serious formation of long style flowers which could not self-pollinate, resulting in reduced yield, at the same time, field canopy closed, but also prone to a variety of fungal and bacterial diseases.

Misunderstanding 2: apply too much nitrogen and potash fertilizer and ignore other nutrient elements.

Eggplant fruit vegetables have a great demand for potassium and nitrogen, so many farmers apply a large amount of potassium and nitrogen fertilizer in production, ignoring the supplement of phosphorus, calcium and magnesium. At this time, if there is a high temperature and drought environment, it will antagonize the absorption of calcitonin, resulting in different degrees of navel rot in hot pepper.

Myth 3: the more frequently the drug is administered, the fewer diseases and insect pests will be.

Many growers give medicine every 2-3 days in the middle and later stages of pepper growth, thinking that this can reduce the spread of the disease, otherwise it will destroy the seedlings.

In fact, during this period, frequent administration of drugs not only interferes with the normal synthesis of carbohydrates in pepper, but also is not conducive to the production of antibiotics, resulting in a decline in disease resistance of pepper.

Solution:

For the plots with high total salt concentration, it is necessary to re-apply organic fertilizer, humic acid fertilizer and microbial agents to increase the ratio of soil carbon to nitrogen, improve soil structure and microenvironment, and remove salt and reduce fertilizer damage.

In order to improve the yield and quality of hot pepper, it is necessary to understand the growth and fertilizer characteristics of hot pepper and apply fertilizer scientifically. Pay attention to supplement trace elements of boron, zinc and magnesium, balance soil nutrition, and create conditions for reducing input and continuous high yield year after year.

The results showed that for every 1000 kg of pepper, 2.5 ~ 3.5kg of nitrogen, 0.4 ~ 0.8kg of phosphorus pentoxide and 4.5 ~ 5.5kg of potassium oxide were needed. Organic and inorganic fertilizers can be applied according to this proportion in production.

Pepper cultivation should not be too dense, reasonable sparse planting is better, plants with luxuriant leaves and poor ventilation should be thinning leaves in time, and the uncrowded environment of leaf branches is the best, so as to improve the total yield and total benefit.

In the prevention of diseases, it is best to choose agents containing copper and zinc, which can not only kill bacteria, but also enhance plant disease resistance and promote crop growth. For the soil-borne diseases of hot pepper, we should do a good job of medication and prevention at the seedling stage.
