For succulent plants that have not changed pots for a year or two, the root system fills the whole flowerpot, which is not conducive to drainage and ventilation, and the soil nutrients are lost, from the original granule to powder, soil acidification, many friends want to change pots for their beloved succulent plants. Succulent change is necessary, after a year of growth, the nutrients in the soil have been absorbed almost gone, and the soil has become more solid, not conducive to ventilation, no matter how loose there is no good effect.

After taking the succulent plant out of the old pot, many flower friends are afraid of damaging the root system, so they shake the soil slightly and put it on the basin directly, which is not conducive to the growth of succulent plant. The correct way is to remove all the soil from the succulent root, and then trim the rotten root system and put it back on the pot. Of course, the root pruning here is to cut off the withered root system. Not the new roots.

If you change a new basin, rinse it with clean water first, then disinfect it with disinfectant, which can be diluted with potassium permanganate, and then soak and disinfect. Finally, rinse thoroughly and then dry. If you use the original basin, it should also be re-cleaned, and then exposed to the sun, disinfection and sterilization, to remove eggs.

Add large grains of red jade soil, roughly to the height of the flowerpot about 1/3, which can make the drainage more smoothly. Then put in a layer of cultivated soil, as long as the amount of soil can cover the red jade soil below, and finally put a pinch of fertilizer. Watering immediately after potting, this is also wrong, because succulent plants have repaired their roots before potting, and there will be some friction with the soil when transplanting. If watered immediately at this time, the wound may be infected with bacteria.

Some friends find it too troublesome to change pots, so they don't change pots and keep them with the original soil. This is very bad, the soil has been used for a long time, the nutrients inside must be absorbed almost, and there will be a lot of bacteria and microbes, the soil is solid. These are not conducive to succulent growth, may not see any problem at first, but over time, the leaves will begin to yellow, wither, or even die.

Why are the succulent plants that have taken the pot still dead? The answer is because your succulent plant hasn't taken the pot yet, and even if you take the succulent basin, it doesn't mean you can take care of it right away like other succulent plants. The basin is only a relative concept. Some people may tell you that you will basically take the pot after two or three weeks of planting, because it has usually taken root. In other words, if the succulent plant is soft and has new leaves, it will serve the pot. It's all right. But it does not mean that you can take normal care and receive all-day sunshine. This kind of behavior is a death-seeking behavior in summer or autumn.
