There are many reasons for the rotten roots of a gentleman's orchid. If you water too much or too frequently, put the flowerpot cushion high to vent out and reduce watering. If the soil permeability is too poor, replace the soil with good permeability. If you use fertilizer that has not been mature, wash the fertilizer off or change the soil with cold water.

1. Reduce watering

Reason: if you water the orchid too much at a time or too often, it will cause stagnant water in the soil. The emergence of stagnant water will reduce the oxygen content in the soil, and once the oxygen content is reduced, the root cells of Cymbidium will change from aerobic respiration mode to anaerobic respiration mode, producing ethanol. If ethanol can not be discharged in time, it will lead to rotting roots of Cymbidium.

Solution: put the flowerpot high and put it in a place with better ventilation, wait for the moisture in the soil to evaporate, and then reduce the amount and frequency of watering. If the situation is more serious, you can dig up the plant, cut off the broken roots, change half of the soil and replant it.

2. Change the soil

Reason: raise magnolia to use highly permeable soil, if the lack of air circulation in the soil, it will also make the oxygen concentration in the soil very low, resulting in rotting roots.

Solution: take the plant out of the soil, plant it into a new breathable soil, and maintain it slowly.

3. Scientific fertilization

Reason: if unripe fertilizer is used for magnolia, the fertilizer will be decomposed by microbes in the soil. In this process, a large amount of heat will be released, which cannot be dissipated, which will affect the root system of the plant.

Solution: use a lot of cold water to irrigate the orchid to wash away the fertilizer, or simply replace it with new soil, and then scientifically fertilize and preserve it.
