Potted jasmine has emerald green leaves, starry flowers, exquisite and small, pleasant fragrance, and is very popular with flower friends, but in daily cultivation, improper maintenance will lead to jasmine not blooming, less blooming, falling buds, early shedding flowers, not strong fragrance and other phenomena often trouble flower friends. So, how can we make jasmine blossom more and have strong fragrance?

First, there is plenty of sunshine. Jasmine is fond of hot, humid and ventilated environment, so it is said that "sun-immortal jasmine, shady and invincible orchid". In order to cultivate a good jasmine, it must be planted in a sunny place all the year round, and more than 5 hours of light must be guaranteed every day. If the light is strong, the branches are strong, the leaves are thick green, there are many flowers, the color is good, and the fragrance is strong; if there is not enough sunlight, the flowers are small but not fragrant. Therefore, in order to make jasmine blossom more, we must have a good environment and enough light.

Second, the soil is suitable. The basin soil for cultivating jasmine must be highly permeable, well drained, not easy to consolidate and slightly acidic. The basin soil should be a mixture of 40% rotten leaf soil, 40% garden soil and 20% river sand plus a small amount of bone powder as base fertilizer. In this basin soil, the root system is dense and the growth is robust, such as viscous soil, lack of organic matter, low fertility, poor ventilation, few roots, short plants, slender stems and leaves, and small flowers.

Third, watering the right amount. Planting jasmine, learning to water is into the door of jasmine cultivation, jasmine is afraid of long wet, avoid stagnant water, rainy season to pour water in the basin in time, otherwise the leaves are easy to yellow, commonly known as "water yellow". After summer, with the increase of air temperature, the watering times should be increased accordingly, and attention should be paid to spraying water to the branches and leaves and the surrounding ground to cool and humidify. After entering autumn, watering should be reduced appropriately to keep the basin soil moist. Combined with watering, 0.2% ferrous sulfate can be applied once every half a month during the growing period, which can keep the basin soil slightly acidic and make it grow healthily and blossom more.

Fourth, rational fertilization. High temperature in summer is the peak period for jasmine growth, which requires heavy fertilizer, more organic fertilizer and phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, such as peanut cake, bone meal, calcium superphosphate and compound fertilizer, once or twice a month. The phenomenon of luxuriant branches and leaves but not blooming often occurs in the summer growth period, which is mainly due to excessive nitrogen, resulting in the growth of branches and leaves. At this time, fertilizer and water should be controlled, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be applied to promote the gestation of flower buds, and attention should be paid to moving jasmine to a place with sufficient sunshine and good ventilation. Note that when the buds grow to the size of mung beans, spray 0.1% borax solution once, this treatment can promote the development of buds and rich aroma.

Fifth, moderate pruning. Jasmine grows very fast in summer, should be pruned in time, potted jasmine pruning to retain the base 10 ~ 15 cm, promote the majority of sturdy branches, such as the growth of new branches are very prosperous, should be in the growth of 10 cm, promote 2 times of shoot flowering more, so that the plant type is compact. Flowers should be cut off after withering to reduce nutrient consumption and promote the growth of new shoots.
