Bonsai is placed at home, and many people like to do so, which is a good choice to beautify the home environment, but summer should be a difficult season for bonsai. The hot and humid environment in summer is a major disaster for bonsai. How should measures be taken?

1. Watering

It was mistakenly thought that frequent watering during the high temperature period was beneficial to the growth of the pile, but several times a day, the humidity of the basin soil was too high, the root system was in a state of anaerobic respiration for a long time, produced excessive alcohol accumulation, and the root system of the pile failed to absorb water, inorganic salts and minerals. Finally drowned. Generally speaking, in summer or drought, it is best to water it in the morning and evening.

2. Drought

The stump is planted in the basin, whether it is a deep basin or a shallow basin, the soil is always limited, and the water content is also limited. When I think of watering, I can't remember not watering, and sometimes I don't care for several days in a row. Once the leaves are found wilting, they replenish water quickly, and the leaf surface returns to normal. This is a reaction of the pile body to adapt to the environment, but for a long time, excessive transpiration will eventually make the pile body difficult to recover from serious illness and die of dehydration.

3. Sunshine

When the ambient temperature is more than 28 ℃, the bonsai should be protected by shade, otherwise, the amount of water obtained by the pile from the soil is much lower than that lost by transpiration, the leaf edge of the light is burned and scorched, and the heavy pile is burned and dies.

4. Sudden shade

Usually, some tree species like shade, so shading measures should be taken. For example, most cuckoos and camellias like shade, in order to avoid high temperature injury, when the ambient temperature exceeds the maximum temperature limit of the pile, the bonsai should be moved to the low temperature zone with weak light, about 2 ℃ lower, to facilitate the growth of the pile, but if it is suddenly moved to the indoor or lower temperature area, within a few days, the leaves will naturally fall off, and the stump will shrink and die.

5. Prevent exposure to the sun

First, it is necessary to prevent sunlight exposure. The temperature on the balcony is high in summer, and the light is poisonous. at noon, the basin temperature is as high as 45 ℃, while the bonsai of tree stump is generally planted shallowly and the soil is very little. if excessive exposure, it is easy to burn leaves, lose water in twigs and die bare roots, so necessary shade must be given. In addition, the method of covered with grass can also be used to reduce the temperature of the basin soil.

6. Stop fertilization

In summer, not only the temperature is high, but also the humidity of the basin soil is high, so it is best to stop fertilization, especially the newly planted stumps in that year, so as to prevent the nutrient fibrous roots from being burned due to the high temperature of the basin soil after fertilization.

7. Pay attention to ventilation

Bonsai can not be too close to the wall, nor can it be placed too dense, so as to avoid the damage to the trunk and branch cortex caused by the reflection of sunlight on the wall and basin wall, and it is also convenient for ventilation and heat dissipation.
