Hard plant cultivation in the sea of southern Fujian

Minnan Damei is a new product of Meilan, which is descended from the forest area of Nanjing, Fujian Province. Semi-erect leaves, moderate height. The leaf color is green, rich in luster and beautiful in shape. Flowering coincides with the Spring Festival, each scape with 815 flowers, Zhengge plum petal type, off the shelf, fragrance. It won the gold medal many times in the National Orchid Exhibition and landed in March 2002. it is the highest-grade plum flower at present.

Although Minnan plum has high grade, it has strong root system and is easy to cultivate. Over the past few years, we have planted Minnan plum with hard plants. the plants are tall, straight and strong, and the germination rate can reach 150%.

First, the selection of basin tools and planting materials are the foundation

At first, we used mountain bark soil as planting material and used long-tube tile pots to plant and domesticate Minnan plum, which had just come down from the mountain, and the growth condition was OK. However, the germination rate is low, and the leaf wood and plant type are not very ideal. Later, we accepted the suggestion of the Orchid Family in Taiwan and used black plastic orchid pots (No. 4 and No. 5) as containers. This kind of orchid basin has adequate drainage and ventilation holes from the bottom of the basin to the basin wall, which can ensure the requirement of ventilation and ventilation of the orchid root. The plant material is 85% of the particles on the carbon kiln (that is, the charcoal kiln wall soil removed by burning charcoal in the forest area), and 15% of the snake wood section 3-5 cm long is mixed. This kind of soil has been calcined at high temperature for a long time, and it is crushed into particles with a diameter of 0.6 to 1.5 centimeters, which has the characteristics of solid texture and non-blistering. The effect of nourishment is satisfactory.

However, due to the limited particle resources of charcoal kiln soil and the increasing depletion, we refer to the experience of planting orchid with household hard plant material of Taiwan orchid and replace it with pebbles with low price and rich resources. Specific formula: 70% fresh pebbles with a diameter of 0.8 cm to 1.2 cm, plus 15% medium-coarse grained field cornerstone, plus 15% snake section to mix evenly. The practice over the past few years has proved that this plant formula is feasible. Because the pebble texture is hard and smooth, which is conducive to the growth of orchid seedlings, but the absorption water level is different, the pond foundation stone is soft, the gap is large, the water absorption is strong, and it is good for ventilation; snake instinct increases the gap between plants to create a softer environment for the root growth of orchid seedlings. The root system of the orchid seedling cultivated by this plant material is strong and strong, and it is not easy to lose water after depotting, so it is easy to bag for long-speed storage and transportation or mailing.

Ensuring the supply of nutrients is the key.

Due to the use of hard granular materials as plant materials, the matrix nutrients are relatively poor, how to ensure the nutrient requirements of plants is particularly important. We adopt the method of applying high efficiency, slow release and high quality compound fertilizer to solve the problem. Specific methods: when planting orchid seedlings to fill plant materials, apply about 5 grams (10-15 grains) of magic fertilizer in each pot, and apply it again half a year later. In this way, as long as the plant contains the corresponding water, Langen can absorb the necessary nutrients. Of course, some supplementary measures should be taken, that is, 1500-2000 times diluted Huabao liquid foliar fertilizer is usually sprayed once a week (the suitable type is selected according to the different growth period of orchid seedlings), and organic fertilizer is applied once in spring and autumn respectively. In this way, the amount of fertilizer needed for the growth of orchid plants in one year can be fully met. Because magic fertilizer is a high-phosphorus and high-magnesium compound fertilizer, it can promote early germination, fast root growth and enhance the resistance of orchid plants. it is especially suitable for planting high-grade orchids.

Third, water management is not relaxed.

Minnan Damei, like other cymbidium, belongs to Xi Runlan species. Its blade is wide and thick, and its leaf surface evaporation is large. And hard plant material water absorption, water retention performance is poor, so watering should be relatively frequent. Water should be watered every day in hot summer, every 2-4 days in spring and autumn, and once every 5-6 days in winter.

Fourth, shading measures should keep up.

Minnan Damei is a kind of sunny orchid, so the orchid room should set up two layers of sunshade net. The shade of the top floor is 75% 80%, installed on the outdoor roof and fixed for sunshade. The low-level shading is 60%-75%, installed indoors and can be adjusted. In hot summer, the two layers are used at the same time, in winter or rainy days, the bottom layer is put away.
