Cases with no typical symptoms of orchids
A typical symptom is a typical condition. Such as cough is a typical symptom of respiratory diseases. Common orchid diseases also have typical symptoms, brown spot disease early typical symptoms, very thin brown spots appear on the leaves, to the late stage, spots expanded into semicircular slightly concave wheel-shaped black patches. White silk disease early typical symptoms, blue plant base white filaments (hyphae), to the late, white filaments spread to the entire basin surface, blue plant base was water-like rot. Leaf spot disease early typical symptoms, new leaves (bud) base brown spots, to the late, brown spots rot, gently pull out with a hand, leaves and casually. Virus disease early typical symptoms, leaves appear similar to leaf art of various patterns, to the late, leaves withered black death.
Atypical symptoms mean that there is no specific representative disease. Orchids without typical symptoms of disease death is the whole process of leaf dehydration in dry, dead roots are still fresh as ever. It is said that it has no typical symptoms, because its symptoms are no different from orchid death. The difference is that old plants die only, and new plants and new buds are not involved, while it does not divide new plants and old plants, as long as it is inevitable to die. Secondly, its symptoms and mismanagement are also very similar, such as the symptoms of excessive dosage orchid poisoning, but the poisoned leaves often have scars or patterns, it has no clues. Fertilizer is too thick rotten root symptoms are also the same, the difference, rotten root symptoms often in the leaf end or new leaves begin to lose water wrinkled, and it has no unusual precursor. Plants that are too dry and wet have similar symptoms. In fact, there is a fundamental difference between asymptomatic diseases and poorly managed diseases. The former is a pathological symptom, while the latter is a physiological symptom. Mismanaged diseases are chronic, long-lasting and reversible. If drug poisoning is mostly mild and slow, it can be remedied by stopping application and rinsing leaves. The disease process is also very slow, as long as the replacement of plant materials, stop fertilization, generally not all death. Atypical disease is acute, progressive and irreversible. Last year, the author divided a large pot of black orchid into 4 parts and sent it to several orchid friends for cultivation. As a result, all of them died quickly without typical symptoms. When you are still in a daze, orchids have died.
Pathogens without typical symptoms are mostly brought in when orchids are introduced from other places. In November 2003, the author ordered a batch of orchids from a certain place in the south and kept them in warm cabinet. When the new buds grew to 3cm in the middle of April 2004, two pots of orchids and one pot of orchids died suddenly without typical symptoms. Only two orchids introduced from other places have appeared in this local area, and no one has heard of this situation in order to cultivate traditional orchids in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces and local orchids.
At present, it is not clear what the pathogen is without typical symptoms, and the prevention and treatment of common orchid antibacterial agents have also shown no effect. The author believes that once the disease without typical symptoms is found, it should be burned immediately, and the used pots, tools and plant materials should be strictly disinfected to prevent spread and repeated infection.
