Effects of planting Environment and Climate on Cymbidium
Most of the ancient dill yanghui were literati and aristocrats, they all had halls and courtyards with a good orchid environment, unlike most of us now raise orchids on the balcony or on the roof, the upbringing environment has undergone fundamental changes. Last year's weather was rare in a century, with no continuous spring rain, no rain in the plum rainy season, and persistent high temperatures in summer. In such an environment, planting Cymbidium pseudobulbs deep in the soil is as uncomfortable as wearing a scarf in summer. Local orchid friends have also suffered from the deep planting of Cymbidium. Many solitary products of Cymbidium in this city have died of stem rot. Of course, there are many other causes of death, such as plant material, water, fertilizer and so on, but according to my investigation, the vast majority of people who died was Huilan. This has to arouse our vigilance. At the same time, as we all know, the false bulb is the reservoir of orchid nourishment and water, which plays an important role as a connecting link between the preceding and the following. Soil decomposition, root absorption, after photosynthesis, processing into all kinds of organic matter, transported to pseudo-bulb storage, and then continuously supply the growth of new roots and seedlings. This complex process of processing, manufacturing, and supply all depends on the power of light, so Cymbidium can not be deeply rooted in this principle. The pseudo-bulb should be slightly exposed on the surface to ensure that sufficient light is given to activate the motive force.
