Yanglan dialect plant material
If you want to grow orchids well, planting material is the foundation. How to choose the plant material suitable for orchid growth? According to the experience of raising orchids for many years, the author talks about his personal views.
I. collocation of plant materials with orchid pots
At present, most of the orchids choose tile basin, purple sand basin, pottery basin and so on. Due to the different air permeability of these orchid pots, the plant materials selected for growing orchids are also different. Tile pot, because of its excellent permeability and hydrophobic performance, good moisture retention, the plant material used can be smaller; choose purple sand pot or pottery pot to cultivate orchids, because of its poor air permeability, summer and autumn are affected by the weather, the flowerpot absorbs heat quickly and dissipates heat slowly, so the plant material used can be thicker. In short, the plant material should be matched with the size and depth of the orchid basin, depending on the type of orchid basin.
II. Selection of plant materials
According to the author's experience, first, the humus soil in the original place should be selected reasonably. The black humus soil with dead branches and leaves in the mountain stone crevice or the humus soil on the surface of mountain pine forest is the most suitable, which can not only increase the nutrients of orchids, but also benefit the growth of orchid roots. Second, it should be mixed with a few bricks. You'd better take green bricks. Before use, soak the brick particles in water for 3 to 5 days, so as to remove the alkaline substance and fire in the brick particles, so as to enhance the air permeability and water absorption of the brick particles itself. if you use it to grow orchids, the flower roots will not blacken and rot, and Ye Yilan will not walk. Third, the proper use of cinder. As the cinder is burned at high temperature and contains a large amount of alkaline matter and fire gas after cooling, the coal must be soaked for a few days before use to remove the alkaline matter from the bricks and wait for drying. The annealed cinder is absolutely harmless to orchids. Fourth, the skillful use of fired turf soil. The turf mud roasted at low temperature contains a lot of phosphorus and potassium fertility, as well as a small amount of manganese, iron, calcium and other trace elements, such as used to grow Yilan, the orchid plant is strong, the production is high and relatively stable.
Third, the proportion of plant materials should be appropriate.
If the tile basin is selected as the orchid basin and the humus soil in the original place is selected as the plant material, the humus soil in the original place should account for 70% of the mixed plant material, and a little charcoal or brick should be used as the basin bottom. If you choose purple sand basin or pottery basin as orchid basin and brick or cinder as planting material, the proportion is 40% to 60%), with 30% to 40% pond mud and a little foam fragments as the bottom of the basin. Select fired turf soil as the main planting material, the proportion can be in the range of d% to 70%, mixed with charcoal and brick.
