Light and temperature of domestic orchids
Orchids should receive full light in winter and spring, and more than half shaded in summer and autumn. People need to move the orchid to a place with skylight but no sun after summer, such as the north balcony of the building and under the eaves of the bungalow. If there is no such condition, from early May to late September, cover the direct sunlight with Reed curtain or bamboo curtain, spread the curtain when the strong light comes, and roll it up after the strong light. If the cultivation quantity is large, sunshade net can be used, and the shading degree should not be less than 60%.
The suitable temperature for orchids is 25 ~ 28 degrees in summer and autumn, and 7 degrees in winter and early spring. In the dormant period, the room temperature should not be higher than 16 ℃ in daytime and 10 ℃ at night. In the unsuitable temperature period, the summer adopts the methods of setting up bricks under the basin, laying sand, spraying the orchid plant and sprinkling water to the ground to reduce the temperature, increase the air humidity and make it safe to spend the summer. If you put it indoors or in a double-layer plastic shed in the severe winter, it will not be frozen. When the cold spell comes and the wind and snow cools, we must try to increase the temperature, otherwise we will suffer frost damage.
