Triacontanol: orchid "savior"

Triacontanol, chemically called 1-triacontanol, is a new type of animal and plant growth regulator discovered by American scientist Professor Reese.

The main effects of triacontanol on plants are as follows: promote plant growth; enhance the activity and respiratory intensity of a variety of enzymes; enhance photosynthesis and increase water absorption; promote the absorption of chlorine; improve disease resistance; promote hydrolysis in tissue; promote cuttings rooting.

Triacontanol can promote the growth of all animals and plants, including orchids.

In the process of planting and cultivation, orchids often grow poorly due to the change of living environment. Orchids that survive in unfavorable conditions will die if they do not take effective measures in time. Triacontanol had a good effect on the revival of orchids after transplanting. For dying orchids (such as dehydration, rotting roots), timely use of triacontanol can get twice the result with half the effort.

Some of my Huizhou ink plants have dried up in the basin because they have not been watered for a long time, and they cannot be saved by immersion. After that, the following remedial measures were adopted: wash the soil, disinfect the soil, and fix the plant in the middle of the bottle mouth (big mouth bottle) by water culture. 1% triacontanol is used in clear water, and the rest is mixed with 0.5% potassium dihydrogen phosphate. Add nutrient solution and triacontanol once a week (the nutrient solution should be light), and spray to the leaves at the same time. More than a month later, the flowers and arrows that could not be expected had been stretched out and entered the stage of Xiaopai Ling. The phenomenon of water loss has been alleviated. From the stem also gave birth to two small white roots, although the flowering period has passed, but you can see the flowers that are about to bloom from the crisis.

When triacontanol is mixed with pesticides, fertilizers and trace elements, it should be used now; the ambient temperature of spraying should be 15: 35 ℃ and should be supplemented in case of rain; the basin soil should not be too wet when spraying, but should be sprayed in the morning and evening.
