Control of shell insects

In the rainy season, there are three kinds of scale insects that are seriously harmful: Shield, Tiaoban Wang Fenjie and Lanjie.

Control methods: spring orchid in 5 ~ 9 months after flowering, Chardonnay in 5 months before flowering.

You can choose one of the domestic prevention and control:

First, use skimmed cotton or gauze to dip in 1:5 mashed green onions or garlic, or use 1MU 200 detergent, or 40% omethoate EC, gently rub the affected area and touch the shell insects, once every five days for 3 times 4 times in a row.

Second, use brown drama or soft toothbrush to gently brush along the veins (tendons) longitudinally, or use small bamboo needles to pick out the worm body.

Third, with skimmed cotton or gauze dipped in 80% dichlorvos EC 80 times liquid on the basin soil, distant orchid plant 8cm, then sealed with plastic film yellow steaming for half an hour to one hour, the effect is the best.

In addition, by the end of October, the rotten roots of yellow leaves with diseases and insect pests should be removed or the topsoil should be replaced, so as to strengthen fertilizer and water management and protect and utilize natural enemies. (Deng Shaokang)
