Control of Orchid White Silk Disease
The disease is the main public hazard of orchid death. The plum rainy season starts from May to June, and the suitable temperature is 25 ~ 35C. During the period of humid environment and muggy heat, the bacterial damage can live for 3 ~ 5 years in dry environment, and 2 ~ 5 generations occur every year.
This disease can be found in all places where orchids are cultivated and grown. It is necessary to strengthen ventilation, thinning, isolation and burning of diseased leaves.
Control methods: White silk disease can damage a variety of plant seedlings and propagate quickly, so prevention should be taken as the main method.
First, the use of soil must be high-temperature disinfection and sterilization (100℃ or hot sun exposure), it is best to use soilless cultivation, add nutrient solution, sanitary and harmless.
Second, organic fertilizer should be fully matured and applied, or it can be changed to inorganic nutrient solution.
Third, strictly control the introduction of bacteria and isolate the diseased strains.
Fourth, outdoor to prevent excessive rain, indoor training to control humidity and pay attention to ventilation conditions.
Fifth, when changing pots and plants, clean orchid leaves and bowls, and it is best to dilute and disinfect them with potassium permanganate solution.
Sixth, during the onset season, 800-1000 times of topiramate or 500 times of carbendazim should be sprayed every month. 2 hours after the use of insecticides, spray the leaves again with clear water to remove the foliar pesticides and avoid burning the orchid leaves and seedlings. (Deng Shaokang)
