Wetting Method of Orchid Cultivation on Balcony

The balcony is windy and the orchid basin is easy to dry. one of the keys to the orchid growing as well as the ground is humidity. The author has been raising orchids on the balcony for many years and feels that the following methods can be used to humidify and moisturize.

(1) using a water storage tank to moisturize. At present, the balconies of many families are equipped with anti-theft mesh bars protruding from the balconies, which can be covered with old wooden boards or bamboo slices, plastic sheets, etc., and then spread eight thick plastic films on them to make a storage tank. Put the orchid basin on the storage tank. Make use of the natural evaporation of the trough water to make the small environment around the orchid basin moist.

(2) concentrate on moisturizing with more orchid pots. The balcony raises the orchid, many kinds are better than less, because the less the orchid basin, the faster the air circulation, the flowing air takes away a large amount of moisture around the orchid basin to cause drying and dehydration, if the orchid basin is more and more dense and interact with each other, not only achieve the personality of orchid growth, "like living in groups and afraid of loneliness". Air humidity can also stay around the orchid basin for a long time, which is conducive to the growth of orchids, so the author's approach is multi-level intensive arrangement to retain humidity.

(3) moisturizing with lianas. Parthenocissus grows large and dense and neatly arranged leaves in summer, which not only has a high ornamental value, but more importantly, its leaves block strong photothermal radiation, and at the same time, the leaves evaporate a lot of water, which can make the whole balcony space more humid small environment.
