Preparation of plant material
The requirements for orchid plants are unobstructed drainage, good ventilation and proper humidity. At present, pond foundation mud and frogstone particles are commonly used in orchid cultivation. Pebbles, pebbles. Burning soil particles, broken brick particles, fairy soil, peat soil particles, snake wood, water moss and so on. Soak the material in clean water for half an hour before use, then remove it and drain for use. If several kinds of plant materials are mixed, the effect will be better. The following recipes can be selected:
(1) pond base mud (or vermiculite or burning soil particles 90% + snake wood 10%.
(2) 70% of fairy soil + 30% of pebbles or gravel.
(3) broken bricks (0.5-1 cm 80% in diameter + 20% snake wood).
If there is no snake wood, the following plant materials can also be used:
(l) pond mud particles.
(2) 70% of river sand + 30% of water moss.
(3) 40% rotten leaf soil + 40% river sand + 20% sawdust or fine shavings.
(4) 30% of garden soil or burnt honeycomb coal ballast + 20% of rice husk (after fermentation and disinfection) + 50% of river sand.
