Personal experience of trying auxin "920"
In the process of cultivating orchids, it is concluded that after long-term artificial cultivation, the leaves of orchids tend to become shorter and wider, and tend to be dwarfed generation by generation. This established fact has become a big problem for the orchid industry and orchid farmers.
I also encountered the same problem in the process of growing orchids. This problem gives orchid lovers a headache. More and more short, more and more out of shape, almost as described by Jin ce in the Qing district: become a short-footed woman.
Everything should be divided into two, and orchids are no exception. The buds that come out in spring are strong, and the orchid plants that grow out are also relatively tall. As for the orchid plant growing in summer and autumn, due to the near dormancy period, it stopped growing before the orchid plant grew into a big orchid. This affects the growth height of the orchid plant. Even after the dormant period, the orchid plant will grow poorly because of the environment and water factors during the dormant period.
In order to overcome the above problems, we must experiment in practice. It was also because I encountered the problem of dwarfing in cultivation, so I was determined to try it.
In the early summer of 1995, I tested a pot of orchids with standing leaves. Gibberellin (920) was used as a reagent and 1 gram was used as the trial dosage. After dissolving with a small amount of alcohol, the amount of water was 1000 ml. When in use, use a needle with a scale to extract 1Oppm and put the auxin liquid of the 1Oppm into clear water containing 1OO milliliters. Spray with a spray can and brush with a hairbrush. If there are few orchid plants, the method of brushing leaves is more uniform. Once a week.
After more than five times of efforts, the orchid plants and leaves have changed significantly. It grows faster and taller than the orchid leaves that grow at the same time. "the old plant (mother) not only blossomed two arrows without degeneration, but also grew two offspring. The growth of these two new seedlings is particularly obvious. After only six applications of 920 growth hormone, the two new seedlings reached the height of the old plants in the same year (only three months), and even exceeded the old ones by 80 mm. The leaf width and thickness are the same as those of the old plant (parent). But because the growth is fast, the leaf foot is weak, lodging appears. The solution is to first adopt a fixed method, do not let fall, can stand. After that, the quick-acting fertilizer of potassium dihydrogen phosphate was applied once a week, with a dosage of 5/1000. A month later, the loose rope can not fall down, and the orchid plant can also be bent by hand to stand on its own feet after letting go, feeling that the orchid plant leaves and feet are tough. Through this experiment, I understand the effect of growth hormone on summer and autumn seedlings of orchids. It is 920 auxin that promotes the elongation of the cells in the leaves of the orchid plant, thus accelerating the growth and height growth of the orchid plant.
This experiment solved the problem of dwarfing of orchid plants. In the experiment, we should pay attention to the best time to apply "920", starting from the leaf bud and releasing the leaves, that is, the best time for the orchid to grow. If the orchid plant is sick and delicate, it is not suitable to apply "920". It should be combined with nitrogen fertilizer during the application period. After application, potassium fertilizer was applied in time to strengthen the stem and long leaf bone.
The application of "920" growth hormone should pay attention to the influence of environmental factors, otherwise it will fail.
The above experimental results show that the problem of generation-by-generation dwarfing of orchids can be solved. Whether it has an effect on all orchid varieties remains to be further tested and demonstrated. (Tian Qiao)
