In general, orchids like warm temperatures in winter and cool in summer. Most of our country is located in temperate zone and subtropical zone, which is suitable for orchid growth. There are many orchids all over the country except the northeast and northwest, and the main factor is the limitation of temperature. In the northeast, northwest and most parts of North China, the winter is too cold to be suitable for orchid cultivation. Orchids should be moved indoors in winter and shade sheds should be set up in summer to prevent the scorching sun.

The northernmost orchid plants in China are Chunlan and Huilan. On their distribution line, there are frosts or short-term snow in winter, and the temperature is higher in summer. However, orchids grow mostly in places with trees, mostly in mixed forests or bamboo forests of broad-leaved and coniferous forests, shielding both the hot sun in summer and the cold wind in winter. In snow-covered areas, snow plays a protective role, and the ground temperature under snow is generally not below 0 ℃. In general, the suitable temperature for orchid seedling and growth is as follows:

1. The temperature of orchid seed germination is 21ml 25C during the day and 15-18 ℃ at night. With special exceptions, it applies to almost all orchids.

2. The temperature required for tropical orchid seedlings is 23 ℃ 30 ℃ in the daytime and 21 min in the evening.

3. The temperature required for the growth of epiphytic orchid plants is 23 ℃ 27 C in daytime and 18 murine 21 ℃ in the evening.

4. The temperature required for the growth of terrestrial orchids is 20ml / 25C in the daytime and 3m / 5C in the evening.

The above temperature is the most suitable for the growth of orchids. During the dormant period of orchids in winter, the temperature can be lowered. For example, the lowest temperature of Cymbidium and Cymbidium in winter night is 5mi 6cm C, and it would be OK to drop to Orange C or minus 2m C 3cm C (but should be drier). (Wu Yingxiang)
