Orchids and Sunshine

The Cymbidium and Chardonnay we planted are terrestrial orchids, which rely on the photosynthesis of green leaves to maintain and prolong life and carry on the family line. The power source is sunlight, which absorbs carbon dioxide and releases oxygen through the chemical action of chlorophyll in blue leaves to increase the nutrients needed by the orchid body. The bulbs and roots are digested and decomposed at night, converting carbon dioxide into sugar, and then forming a variety of required proteins, which are transported to all parts of the plant through the flow and pressure of water and air to make them grow and expand. The plants grow and blossom day after day. This is probably the relationship between orchids and the sun.

Another relationship between the sun and the orchid is the temperature it brings to the orchid. After thousands of years of growth in nature, Chunlan and Chardonnay have a close relationship with sunlight and temperature. According to general experience, when the sun is irradiated directly at 25 degrees, the chemical reaction between chlorophyll and light in blue leaves is very fast, and the grass grows vigorously. Above 30 degrees, the chlorophyll of grass leaves will automatically reduce, the color of leaves will become lighter, and gradually form a gray visible film to reflect sunlight to prevent burns. This situation can only be maintained for a short time, for a long time, start from the tip of the orchid leaf, the whole plant gradually withered, especially the old grass first turned yellow, and then scorched. Under 20 ℃, orchid leaves can also automatically adjust the amount of chlorophyll to increase chlorophyll to absorb more sunlight, so as to absorb more carbon dioxide and ensure the nutrients needed for the growth of orchid bodies. This function is formed by orchids growing under trees, forests and grasses for many years. Therefore, orchids are not only Yang-tolerant, but also yin-tolerant. But after all, orchids are driven by sunlight, and rely on the temperature brought by sunlight to grow and carry on the family line. The fine leaf species of orchids can withstand a high temperature of 45 degrees for a short time and scorch leaves for a long time under the condition of sunshade. When there is sunshine, it can withstand a low temperature of-5 degrees in the short term, but humidity is an important condition.

Because the orchid is shady, it can grow at low temperature, but it needs all-day sunshine in winter, and it also needs more than 5 degrees temperature and scattered light to regulate its own nutrition field-the amount of chlorophyll. Blue leaves in the shade tend to be greener than those that receive more sunlight. People have mastered this physiological characteristic of orchids. After years of experience, in cultivation and management, shading measures are mostly taken in summer. Orchid pots can be placed outside to see light in the daylight, and can also be placed in indoor shade when the temperature is above 30 degrees. Although the scattered light in the room is weak, orchids can be cultivated well. And orchids on the south balcony can be shaded by bamboo curtains and black shading nets sold in the market before 17:00 after 09:00 in summer, as well as all kinds of orchid sheds. When shading, should not cover the curtain net on the bluegrass, lest the curtain net be scalded by heat. Shading equipment had better have sparse light through, about 30% of the light is good for bluegrass. Light can not only increase temperature, but also prevent the growth of fungi, bacteria and viruses. There is a gap in the curtain net, which is conducive to ultraviolet rays killing germs and viruses.

Sunlight and temperature have a great influence on the reproduction of orchids. If there is no sunshine for a long time in winter and the temperature is low, winter buds will not be nurtured, and if there is no new grass in spring, it will affect the rate of increasing grass throughout the year.

Everything in the world has color, the fundamental source is the sun. The rainbow is divided into seven colors, and the seven colors can be varied. The original color of the orchid is composed of ever-changing primitive light. Therefore, sunlight has a direct impact on the color of orchids. Growing Ye Yilan and colored flowers should study the sun.

Examples are as follows:

Green orchids should bask less in the sun and apply 0.2% Mel, 1% ferrous sulfate, or 2% vinegar. Less application of phosphate fertilizer can deepen the green and prolong the time. This is the reason why Cymbidium has many green flowers and traditional multi-shade cultivation.

White flowers should be less exposed to the sun and can be treated with 0.3% muri 0.5% clear lime water. Crystal orchid and grass can only see scattered weak light. For other white flowers and plants, dark paper can be used to roll up the buds and cover the buds until they bloom. Silver art should also bask less in the sun.

Yellow flowers should bask in the sun and apply 0.2%-0.5% sulfur water. If the yellow leaf art sees little sunshine, it can show the white color.

Red flowers should bask in the sun more, apply 0.5% nitric acid or urea, and apply less potash fertilizer.

Pink flowers bask in the sun and apply 1% Mel 3% superphosphate.

Purple flowers bask in the sun more, apply 0.3% color 0.5% alum.

With regard to the discussion of sunshade, to sum up, most colored flowers and leafy grass need strong sunlight, which can be placed in an orchid shed with sufficient sunshine and below 30 degrees, without shading, and with granular media, a flood is needed at 10:00 every morning, and at 02:00 in the afternoon, another flood is needed to cover the face and cool the grass with a basin. The empty pot at night will not burn the bluegrass, but also make the bluegrass continue to grow at night. Cool at 10:00 high temperature until 02:00 in the afternoon, when it just heats up, it no longer rises in the evening, and there is no surplus water in the basin, which is very beneficial to the growth of bluegrass. This method is not suitable for potted grass that has not been refined, but only for grass that has been exposed to the wind, rain and sun, and not for green flowers, white flowers, white leaves, diseased and weak grasses. When the temperature is higher, or when you are not sure, you can cover it for a short time, but planting green plants accounts for the majority, so you still need sunshade.
