It is a common cultivated plant, mostly planted in gardens, houses, temples and streets, and a few are born in dense forests or limestone areas.

Morphological characteristics of Bauhinia chinensis

Bauhinia is a tufted or solitary shrub, 2-5 m high, bark and twigs are gray-white, leaves papery, subrounded or triangular-rounded, about 5-10 cm long.

Bauhinia flowers purple-red or pink, 2-10 in clusters on old branches and stems, usually opening before leaves, but flowers on shoots or young plants open at the same time as leaves.

Bauhinia blossoms in March-April, fruit in August-October.
