The color of the bulb bracts varies from milky white to crimson. It has stout stems and glossy leaves, and the plant is about 1 meter tall when it is mature.

Emperor flowers like warm, slightly dry and sunny environment, not cold-resistant, should be cool water, avoid stagnant water, require loose and well-drained acid soil, the winter temperature is generally not less than 7 degrees, individual varieties can withstand about zero degrees. The soil of the seedlings needs to be well drained.
