Cultivation sites of Chinese orchids
According to the living habits of orchids who are afraid of summer heat, wind and cold, shade and dust, warmth and smoke, the location of orchid cultivation sites should be as far as possible away from a large number of industrial waste gas and smoke sources such as sulfur dioxide and hydrogen fluoride. The second is to sit to the northwest and southeast, which can not only avoid the strong sunset and the biting cold wind, but also enjoy the warm morning light and the warm southeast wind. Third, the terrain is not low-lying, and there are no high-rise buildings in the southeast to block the wind and light. This is from the requirements of the living habits of orchids, it is good to have such an ideal place, but it is not impossible to raise orchids without such a good place. For example, in Chongqing, one of the "three major furnaces" in China, the temperature is often as high as 42 ℃, and the temperature difference between day and night is also very small. Moreover, as a heavy industrial area, the air pollution is so serious that it is called the "restricted area for orchid cultivation" by famous people in the orchid world. Shenyang has been cold for as long as half a year. The climate in Xi'an is also relatively dry, and external conditions are not conducive to the growth of orchid plants. However, the orchid growers in these places adopt a scientific attitude, properly transform the harsh environment, and cultivate strong orchid seedlings that meet the export standards. This shows that no matter where or what kind of natural environment, as long as it is properly modified to create environmental conditions that can meet the needs of orchid plant growth, orchids can be cultivated well.
