Growth Habits of Rock Peony

Likes plenty of sunshine, air circulation, good soil drainage (preferably sandy soil), deep soil (due to thick fleshy taproots). The growing season requires sufficient water, but no ponding. Winter requires cold and dry basin soil, more cold-resistant. Self-rooted plants grow very slowly, the seed setting rate of mother plants is very low, and the fruit ripening time is very long.
