The distribution area of mountain roses

Mountain roses are mostly distributed in the Canary Islands and nearby islands such as Grand Canary Island, Tenerife Island, Yero Island, Gomera Island and La Palma Island, which are located in the rock crevices in the northward hillside coniferous forest area at an altitude of 1000-1900m.

Mountain roses are also distributed in the southern high island of Tenerife, on the north slope of 950m above sea level, and in coniferous forests about 650m above sea level on the north side of La Palma Island, Yero Island and Gomera Island.

Morphological characteristics of Rose in Mountain area

The fleshy leaves of mountain roses are alternate and arranged in a rosette type, and the plants of different varieties vary in size, ranging from 2 cm to 40 cm.

Mountain roses have different leaf colors, such as gray-green, blue-green or emerald green, etc., during the dormancy period, the outer leaves wither and the central leaves are wrapped up, which is very similar to the budding roses.

Mountain rose florescence from early spring to early summer, raceme, flowers are yellow, its special point is that after the seed matured, the mother plant gradually withered, at the same time there are new buds growing at the base.
