I use fairy soil, sand were planted with the same species of Cymbidium effect differences are obvious, is analyzed as follows.

Planting method: 1/3 of the basin bottom is filled with 1cm×1cm stones, green bean stones are added to the basin half waist, and then 2 small stones and clear water sand are filled without any base fertilizer. In the control group, 3 parts of fairy soil and 1 part of rock were planted. The same plant is divided into two halves, each pot has 6 seedlings, the root condition and seedling condition are basically similar, watering, fertilization and other management methods are the same, after the second anniversary, pot turning observation, two planting materials cultivation comparison is as follows:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

| number of seedlings| root | number of fallen seedlings| flower bud number| plant shape

--------|--------|--------------------|--------|--------|-----------------------

sandstone| 6 | Old roots remain 3, | | |

| | 10 new roots, | 1 | 5 | The leaves are thick and waxy, the color is bright, and there is no disease spot.

| | White and bright, thick| | |

-----------------|-------- ------- ---|--------|---- ---|-----------------------

fairy earth| 4 | One old root, one new root.| 2 | 3 | Some of the new seedlings were scorched and dark in color

| | 8, dark and slender | | | Dark, new seedlings than sand class, average

| | | | | About 1 cm long

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fairy soil is currently generally recognized by orchid ideal plant material, good permeability, mineral rich, as long as the fertilizer and water management properly can raise a good orchid. After experimental observation and analysis, in addition to nutrient growth, the overall advantages of sand plant material than fairy soil are: 1, low cost, general orchid planting materials are more convenient. 2, moisturizing performance is good, sand seed water is good, moisturizing characteristics are outstanding. 3. Simple management. Fertilizer and water management do not need much attention. 4, the material is clean, most suitable for planting orchids, weak seedlings, especially orchids with poor roots, the planting effect is better. Its shortcomings are mainly, pot weight, handling is not convenient enough, there are poor nutritional conditions, should be in different periods, add a little more nutrients to meet their growth needs.
