How to adjust the temperature
The purpose of regulating or controlling temperature is to make orchids get suitable temperature, which can grow normally and flourish. The main means are winter cold, summer heatstroke prevention. Temperature regulation can delay flowering, and temperature has obvious influence on flowering period. The flowering period of spring orchid indoors in Beijing can be 20-35 days earlier than that in the wild. Conversely, lowering the temperature can delay flowering.
The way to regulate temperature is to build greenhouses and orchids. In addition, trees, shrubs, vines and lawns can be planted in or next to orchid growing areas to regulate temperature. Shade shades the sun and reduces its radiant heat. Shade trees move with the rotation of the earth and can be adjusted naturally.
In summer, strengthen ventilation, make air circulate, open doors and windows, or blow with fans, can also reduce the temperature. On the contrary, in winter, wind protection, removal of shade, more sunlight, but also heat preservation.
It should be noted that attention should be paid not only to the temperature of the air, but also to the temperature of the basin soil. Generally basin soil temperature changes with the rise and fall of air temperature, but its change process is relatively slow. Orchids pot soil must not be exposed to the sun; watering water temperature and soil temperature can not be too different. (Song Shi)
