Chen Hsin-yen, director of Taitung Field, said that the climate in Taitung is suitable for citrus growth, and the characteristic oranges in the area are also an important part of Taitung's fruit tree industry. Fulimeng mandarin is a potential variety for diversified cultivation of citrus because of its bright red fruit color, good fruit quality and stable yield. I hope that this visit will promote accurate cultivation techniques to farmers and let more people know this delicious citrus.

During the meeting, Lin Yanxue, an assistant researcher, introduced the fruit thinning technology of Fulimeng mandarin. First of all, it is necessary to understand the physiological fruit drop phenomenon of Fulimeng mandarin. The fruit drop slows down in the middle and late May of each year, and this is the best time for fruit thinning, and the fruit thinning amount is about 40% of the whole plant fruit. This fruit thinning method can increase the rate of large fruit in the fruit by 21%. Ms. Gao Ruiyun, the owner of the orchard, also shared the experience of planting welfare mandarins and the importance of fruit thinning.
